This according to the Transportation Security Administration's new, free "My TSA'' mobile app that includes an alphabetized guide to what types of gifts, gear and goodies travelers can bring with them in carry-on and checked bags.

Travel Leaders Corporate Reveals Data and Trends for International Airfare and Hotel and Car Rates

Travel Leaders Corporate released travel data for its clients' third quarter bookings which indicates the cost of international air travel among business travelers decreased 5% in the third quarter of 2012 as compared to the third quarter of last year. The cost of both an average international airline ticket and the cost per trip segment were down year-over-year.

"The decreasing cost of international airfare reflects what we've already reported quarter-to-quarter this year - specifically that demand continues to soften somewhat. This softening is due, at least in part, to the economic uncertainty in Europe," said Travel Leaders Corporate President David Holyoke.

"Domestic airfares remain relatively flat and our early projections are that those costs will increase slightly going into the first two quarters of 2013."

The table below further illustrates Travel Leaders Corporate's findings on international air travel based on actual bookings made in the third quarter of 2012.  Click to read full press release.

    LaGuardia

US Airways announces the security checkpoint in terminal C is expanding from three lanes to six. This will help reduce lines and quicken the security process. During construction, eight ticket counters, including their Shuttle counter, will be temporarily moved to the far end of the ticketing area. Construction is expected to be complete in late spring 2013.

They're also building an all-new US Airways Club, scheduled to open this spring. During construction, club members may use the Delta Sky Club. They apologize for the inconvenience as they make improvements for a better travel experience.

Business Mileage Rates Increase For 2013
The Internal Revenue Service on Jan. 1, 2013, will raise its business mileage rate by one cent to
56.5 cents per mile, it announced. Many companies use the rate to calculate reimbursements for employees who use personal vehicles for business. "Taxpayers always have the option of calculating the actual costs of using their vehicle rather than using the standard mileage rates," according to IRS.
