Registration for the Chapter's Annual HOLIDAY LUNCHEON on November 30 is open and waiting for you!
Please join us for lunch and enjoy networking with the many fabulous suppliers at the Hilton Arden West in Sacramento.
We are collecting "Shoebox" donations and ask that you fill them with travel-sized toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc) for our chosen charity, WEAVE. A piggy bank will also be circulated to collect spare change to augment the donation to WEAVE from the Silent Auction proceeds. Our goal is $500!!
Points to Ponder:

for more information. Deadline to submit an application is December 12, 2016. The chapter's scholarship process will start in early 2017.
2. If you want to start next year off with your own CGMP designation, March 2017 is the time, and Oakland is the place. Stay tuned with SGMP National's website at www.sgmp.org for details. IF you are attending as a state government planner member, a state rate has been secured from the host hotel: Homewood Suites, Oakland Waterfront, a SGMP supplier member.
Chapter elections for Board positions are coming soon. W
hat do we really do, you ask...?
A monthly program about chapter leadership is coming in January. Also, in the next few e-blasts, each board member will provide a short synopsis of what they currently do on the Board.
For this issue, we are featuring the 1st Vice President position:
Penny Stockdale, CGMP says, "My role as VP was to be a stand in for the president when absent - it never happened but it's good to stay close and learn from her/him. My term on the Board of Directors for SGMP as First Vice President has been very educational and fun! The monthly board meetings with my fellow members and contributions to the team stimulated me for my career. Why? Because I learned so much from them and was able to apply that knowledge to my own job.
I serve as a co-liaison for the fundraising committee and served as liaison* for the Silent Auction which was a blast!"
NOTE: Anyone interested in running for next year's board should contact Immediate Past President Dina Fong, CGMP, at
*Please recognize that each board member serves as liaison to the chapter's committees, and that board committee liaison assignments can change with each administration. Feel free to contact any of the board members for more details if you would like to know more about a specific board position.
