Before you light a fire this winter, keep these important safety tips in mind. Every type of fireplace, whether wood-burning, gas, or electric, poses a potential danger to everyone in your home.

´╗┐Here's how to keep the home fires burning - safely.
Do you keep a pet outside? Please make sure your outdoor furry friends have shelter and bedding. Give them a little extra food, because keeping warm uses more energy. Make sure their water bowls are not frozen over.

Keep in mind that some winter items are dangerous for your pets, including: Antifreeze, baking chocolate, mistletoe, poinsettias, tinsel, and glow sticks.
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the City of Boerne offices will be closed on Monday, January 15.
