This week at BFCCPS:
January 28, 2015

Dear BFCCPS Community,

January and February are peak months for influenza, and there are students in our school community who have been diagnosed with influenza. Attached is a link to the CDC's "The Flu: a Guide for Parents".  A link to this information is also available on the Health Office webpage.

Please remember to keep your child home from school if (s)he has a fever greater than 100.0 within the last 24 hours, or has vomited within the last 24 hours.  If your child is diagnosed with influenza or strep throat, please let the Health Office know.

Also, please remember that hand-washing is an excellent way to help prevent spreading germs and getting sick.  For visual confirmation that hand-washing works, check out these petri dishes growing germs from hands pre and then post hand-washing.  Notice how many fewer germs grew from the washed hands!

Sincerely,

Heather Zolnowski
Head of School
