Sunday Forum: Celebrating 314 Years of St. Thomas History: Part I 

A distinguished panel of historians will help us explore St. Thomas' three centuries of rich history. Join us as Professor David Contosta, author of the recently published history of St. Thomas Church, Professor Ann Greene from the University of Pennsylvania and parishioner Dick Lee examine one of America's most thriving Colonial churches. Professor Contosta will sign copies of his book (available for purchase) after the Forum.

Guest Preacher: The Rev. Canon William Barnwell 

The Rev. William H. Barnwell most recently served as Canon Missioner at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. which focused on issues of social justice and poverty. He did similar work at Trinity Episcopal Church in New Orleans. Fomerly an adjunct professor at the University of New Orleans, Barnwell is well known as a teacher and lecturer. He has written several college textbooks and has been an editor for an editor for EfM.

Disciples of Christ in Community (DOCC) 
Are you looking for a way to grow in your faith? Are you wondering about the next turn on your spiritual path? Do you have questions of your faith that you would like to explore with others? Disciples of Christ in Community (DOCC) is a congregational based Christian formation program for adults that builds community while encouraging individual spiritual growth.

DOCC meets weekly and there is no homework or preparation. Each session consists of a 45 minute presentation by the clergy on the night's topic and sharing in the Eucharist.

EfM: Education for Ministry
The Education for Ministry group at St. Thomas' is inviting interested folks to join them in the fall. EfM, a program of the School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, is designed to deepen a layperson's understanding of the Episcopal faith and provide an opportunity to discover how to respond to the call to Christian service. Over a four-year period, participants study the Old Testament in Year One; New Testament in Year Two; Church History, Year Three and Theological Choices in Year Four. Participants and trained mentors meet weekly over the course of a nine-month academic year, and enrollment is one year at a time.  

EfM will meet on Mondays from 7 to 9:30 p.m. in the schoolhouse auditorium on the church grounds. Tentative start date is October 1.
