Calling Holiday Volunteers!
Give a couple of hours or the whole week! We need individuals, groups and families to help sort and organize gift baskets from Friday, December 7 - Wednesday, December 12. This volunteer opportunity will take place at Work Inc. at 25 Beach Street in Dorchester. Please contact Adam Seigal to sign up at (617)522-7777 or email at aseigal@servings.org.
Now that the baskets are sorted and organized, come help deliver them to our clients and their families. Experience the true meaning of the holidays! In an op-ed piece in the Huffington Post, Community Servings' CEO, David Waters and the CEO of our sister agency in New York, God's Love We Deliver's Karen Pearl, discuss the relationship between food and health.
"...malnutrition is one of the greatest contributors to admission and readmission to hospitals and to admissions into nursing homes. Hospital stays cost money, as do trips to the emergency room. Chronically and critically ill individuals who can remain in their homes while battling whatever health challenge they face can be part of the solution to reduced medical costs."
