In Memory

We would like to remember and thank Richard Minard, who was a dedicated Pie in the Sky volunteer and valued member of the Community Servings family. Richard was a top Pie seller for over a decade, a fixture in his South End neighborhood - never taking "no" for an answer. We are going to miss his enthusiasm and charisma and cannot thank him enough for his years of dedication. For Richard's full obituary, visit Boston.com.

We're Celebrating 5 Years
in our New Home!

CS Building A transformative moment in our history came in June 2007, when we moved to a new state-of-the-art nutrition facility in Jamaica Plain. This enabled us to significantly increase meal capacity to now produce 2,000 meals per day, improve food quality, engage greater numbers of volunteers, expand nutrition services including on-site nutrition classes, offer a food-service job-training program and diversify our funding revenues through a social enterprise.
Read on about all the programs we were able to launch because of our new facility...
Liberty Mutual's Peel-a-Thon!

peel a thon We were thrilled to host Liberty Mutual as they celebrated their 100th anniversary! On June 22nd, one-hundred Liberty Mutual employees peeled and chopped over 1,500 pounds of onions, carrots, apples, squash, sweet potato and ginger. The peeled produce was then cooked up into 3 delicious soups for our critically ill clients. A special thank you to Liberty Mutual for choosing to celebrate their 100th Anniversary with us!
Cook up the soups yourself with recipes from our kitchen:
- Black Bean and Sweet Potato Soup
- Butternut Squash and Apple Soup
- Carrot Ginger Soup
