Dear Friends of A Novel Experience,

The Flag Show is one of our favorites. The show represents a diverse menu of images of the American flag, just in time for the country's birthday. And, everything hangs together beautifully due to the red, white, and blue in each photograph. Thanks, Donna and Andrea for producing another winner! Please join us on Saturday, July 11th to honor the photographers at our annual reception--hot dogs fresh off the grill, chips, beverages, and the famous "Flag Cake" for dessert! Drop by from 6:30 to 8:30 and partake of photography, good company, and good food.

July is in full swing--we've had to replenish our "pool of beach reads" on several occasions--it appears that lots of folks are heading to the shore or the mountains and are planning some serious reading time. Sounds sublime! Speaking of reading, this would be a great time to join one of our book groups--they are all open for new members who might want to drop in as time permits. One of the funny things about book group is that many of the titles bump folks out of their reading ruts. This can be a welcome experience or one fraught with anxiety--for that we have wine. We also have a great quote that graces our front door: "No two persons ever read the same book." (Edmund Wilson). See our calendar below for the groups and the titles.

The store is closed for the 4th of July! Please enjoy the holiday with family and friends.

It's hot. It's dry. The summer squash is in ascendance at our Farmers Markets. Everyone's taking a breather. Plan a trip to Zebulon and stop by. We're happy that a new antique market is opening this week on the Square and the City is about to move some dirt to construct a parking lot and make some more sidewalks. Let us know what you're reading these days!
