London at The Boiler House Brick Lane on  September 26 & 27, 2018.
New for 2018: The Boiler house has had a steel and concrete mezzanine balcony put in covering about 1/4 of the building. We hope as a result to be able to hold the Talks & Masterclasses within the building and expect the acoustics to be good. Our tiered price takes the Mezzanine into account. Stands under the Mezzanine have a ceiling height of approximately 2.8 meters.

Jill Kuehler is yelling to me over the clamor of construction at the old Athletes Lounge space on Northwest Vaughn. The building is being turned into a home for Freeland Spirits, the distillery Kuehler started with help from Cory Carman of Carman Ranch and Molly Troupe, an Oregon-born, Scotland-educated distiller.

I've read this statistic, but all I remember is that it's impossibly low, like 10 percent.

A vestige of a paternalistic era in federal law and policy might finally be coming down, leading the way to more economic development in Indian Country.  A bipartisan group of lawmakers introduced a bill last week that repeals a 19th-century ban on alcohol distilleries on tribal lands.  Read more
