So Who's Favorites Have Been Knocked Out of the NBA and NHL Playoffs Already?
I've admittedly already have a couple.
Serious note: We have some questions from customers regarding the content of our newsletters. Some customers feel that because APBA started as a baseball game company, we should be focusing on baseball. But here's the deal as we see it - we offer every season from 1901 onward in baseball. It's often really difficult to talk up baseball when we don't currently have any new products in that sport. The newsletter is intended to introduce what is going on at the company - and right now the majority of our work is football. In June I'll be focusing on soccer (Women's World Cup), and coming real soon there'll be a heavy emphasis on hockey. We aren't trying to isolate any of our customers, we're just trying to focus on the most exciting new products and announcements.
However, I do understand that baseball season has just started and everyone currently has baseball fever, so I'll try to make this particular edition of the newsletter as baseball-heavy as possible.
For example:
Jed Lowrie of the Astros hurt his right thumb playing the Padres last night. So he's headed back to Houston to get his thumb examined; he's having an MRI done to check out the extent of the damage on his right thumb. Now, you have to understand, he's headed back to Houston because Houston has the best thumb-MRI technology in the world. That's a (baseball-related) fact.
Or, how about this: Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant almost ended his season early when he was nearly trampled during the 5th inning mascot race at the Great American Ball Park. No, really: there's
video proof. However, if you ask me, the best part of the video is how bored and nonchalant the commentator sounds while discussing the near-disaster.
So, on to more baseball news!
