Series
"Realizations in the Holy Land"

Sermon
"Galilee and Judea -  Differences That Matter "

Scripture Lesson
Matthew 6:25-34

This Sunday
One of the major realizations while in the Holy Land was the vast difference between Galilee in the North and what was Judea in the South; Nazareth and the Jezreel Valley in the North and Jerusalem and Bethlehem in the South.  The land is different.  The people are different.  The histories are different and even worship was done in vastly different ways in the days of Jesus depending on if you were from Galilee or Judea.   We saw churches of all kinds and I just kept wondering, what does the Lord require of us in worship?
Particularly, for those of us living in the Pacific Northwest, we can relate to those in Galilee, at least to some extent.  We find God in any number of places, including in the out of doors.  Jerusalem did not find God in the out of doors.  God lived in the Temple, and the essence of God in the very walls of that holy site.  But which is correct?  What does God require of us?  We'll explore that this Sunday.  To prepare please read Matthew 6:25-34.
