"Jesus Throughout History"
More Water / More Wine:
The Normal into the Miraculous
A wedding, with water in the desert, and then the need for more wine. It's such a great story and so packed with meaning. This Sunday we'll take a look at what it means, and particularly for us in this Lenten season. For us the water represents a new beginning much like Ash Wednesday and every day in Lent. For us the wine includes much more than we think. It includes the teachings, the healing, the praying, the building of community, and even the cost of the confrontations. All of this is wrapped up in a simple half chapter that focuses on a wedding; and not even a wedding but the dinner that followed. This story has it all. It has a wedding, a manipulative mother (that isn't even the mother of the bride). It has an embarrassed and potentially shamed groom or host, a bride that doesn't know what to do, and a hero who doesn't want to step in but is forced to by that same mother. And when he steps in he does so without acclaim and heals the whole situation. And when I say that this story has it all. It really does. So to prepare go back and read the story. It can be found in John 2: 1 - 12.
Rev. Brad P. Beeman
Last Sunday I talked about the completion of seven statements throughout this Lenten Season. I promised that they would be in my blog. Here they are
1. God is... God you are for me...
I need from
you, O God...
2. Jesus is... Jesus you are for me....Christ, I need from you...
3. Holy Spirit is...Spirit you are for me... Spirit, I need from you...
4. I find the eternal in...when... if I....
5. Church is... My church is for me...I need from you...
6. Church leadership is... you are for me...I need from you...
7. Therefore, I expect from myself...and define myself...I will...
Then thank God for this time of definition and focus. May this season of Lent strengthen, focus and hearten you in faith.
Saturday, February 20
Just a reminder, please come join us on Saturday, February 20 from 8:30am to noon as we work outside around the church property. Bring work gloves and garden tools. Contact is Ted Snyder, 425-747-4653.
Lenten Prayer Class
Meeting Wednesdays at 6:00pm the Lenten prayer classe offers a way to deepen our prayer practice throughout Lent. We will be practicing several forms of prayer, mostly but not all Christian in origin, with an emphasis on the contemplative traditions. The Wednesday of Holy week, we will use the class to prepare ourselves for Christ's passion and resurrection. The final class is March 30. Come and pray in community! Contact is Pastor Laura.

Sunday School Teachers Needed
February 28 and March 20
Spend some time with our Aldersgate kids teaching Sunday school.
to sign up to teach Sunday School classes through Easter.
Sunday School Planning/Training
March 13 at 10:00am
There will be a planning/training meeting between services about our Sunday School Expansion program
We hope to expand from a one room classroom to a multi-age Sunday school program after Easter.
The breakdown would be:
3 years olds - Kindergarten Class
1st - 4th grade Class
5th - 8th grade Tween Class
There are many benefits to this change in our children's
school program. One being the ability to offer a more meaningful and challenging curriculum for each age level. There are already teams forming, but we need a few more members to allow us to fully fill the teams and have another substitute or two who would be able to step in if no one from the teams are able to teach one week.
If you are at all interested, curious or wondering at all about
School, please contact Jen Hoerber or join us at the meeting on Sunday, March 13 at 10:00am.
Parenting Discussion Group
Sundays at 10:00am
Have you tried out the parenting discussion group, yet? There have been some great discussions going on! This group has moved to Friendship Hall! Keep an eye out for the Stuenkel's and Browder's and you will find great discussions and support for all things parenting!
As a society, we are busier today then ever before. In the midst of school, work, volunteerism, extracurricular activities, etc... how do you make time for your family? for yourself?"
Host a Kid's Club
Please volunteer to host Kid's Club - it's fun! Kid's Club is a fellowship time for kids during the 8:50am worship service. There are typically between 4 - 15 kids present and range in age from 3 years - tween. Share a part of your story and your passions with the kids - they love getting to know members of their Aldersgate Family. Play games or do an art project with them - they are super fun and creative! Not sure what to do, but want to support Kid's Club? Talk with Jen Hoerber about ideas that could work or find a friend to host with you!
If you enjoy a tasty treat after church on Sunday, please provide them! We need to restock the freezer with more cookies, muffins and sweet breads.
Dave and Kathy Maybee express their deep appreciation to you their Aldersgate family for all your prayers and good wishes for Dave's recovery. He is doing very well!
Family Fun Night
Friday, February 26, 6:00-9:00pm
Invite your friends and neighbors for a casual night of music, games and food. Roger Ingalls and his band "Inner Voices" and the Aldersgate Ensemble will be our musical entertainment for the night!
Bring a game and food to share!
Please make sure your food is completely prepped and ready to serve since we are in the middle of a kitchen remodel. Remember . . .Friends + Games + Music + Food = FUN!
UMW Spring Salad Supper

Easter Egg Activities
Keep those plastic eggs and candy rolling in! We are needing about 1000 eggs for all of our events!
- Egg-stravaganza - March 26th, 10:00am-noon. This is a community Easter event geared for young children. We are looking for adult and youth to help with the different craft and game stations. Also, if you have any rolls of duct tape (okay if used), we need some for one of our crafts and would love for you to donate.
- Tween Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt - March 26th, 6:30pm - ???. This is a community Easter event geared for kids ages 10 and up) We need adult volunteers to help with the ice cream sundae bar and Easter egg hunt following.
- Easter Sunday we will be hosting a special Kid's Club during the 8:50am service with an Easter Egg hunt at 10:15am. It would be great to have some youth volunteers to hide Easter eggs and to assist during Kid's Club activities.
Vacation Bible School
Aldersgate VBS 2016 will be held the week of July 25th! If you would like to sign up or at least discuss the possibility of being a station leader or group leader, please let Jen know. We are starting to get some key volunteers, so we can continue the planning process together.
