OUR 2017 SAFARI SEASON IS NOW OPEN!

We welcome our staff back to camp as the beautiful abundant rains have come to an end and the park is looking lush. Anabezi is now open for guests and Amanzi opens May 1st. The season has got off to a very wet start with the Chiwengwa and the Mushika still flowing from what has been one of the wettest seasons in years.

We have some great specials for Anabezi and Amanzi this season, including a lovely family special- see below.

ANABEZI CAMP LAYOUT

Our builders have been hard at work at Anabezi moving 5 tents to the opposite side of our Zambezi deck, all 12 tents are now river facing and a family unit added onto the tent closest to the Mushika deck.

NEW ANABEZI FAMILY UNIT

The Anabezi family unit is complete, by popular demand we have designed the perfect tent to accommodate for families. The new family unit features a connected room with two single beds, outside shower and toilet which comes off the private deck. Both Anabezi and Amanzi now have family suites.

GAME SIGHTING NEWS

For the first time in over a decade there has been a positive siting of cheetah, in the Lower Zambezi National Park. What looked like a large male was spotted behind Sausage Tree Camp in the middle of the park. This is exciting for because it was thought that cheetah had died out in the park due to predator competition and but this recent development means there is a chance a viable population is still present in the park!

There have been some exciting developments on the animal front, the lioness Gobvu has been sited around camp over the last couple of weeks and her two cubs are now sub-adult, both are females so we are hopeful that this is the start of an establishment pride.

The Wilddog population also appears t be on the rebound, a pack of seven dogs were spotted on the Chagwenga Plains twice last week and two dogs ran through the camp just before easter. Its thought that this is the Musensensi pack and separate from the pack of eight which have been spotted in the west of the Park.
