AEC/ECC volunteers will take on a service outing at Fossil Creek, outside of Strawberry.  We will carpool to the Creek, hike a couple of the trails there and pick up trash on our way back.  We plan to leave Phoenix at 7 AM, arrive at the trailhead by 10 AM, do trash pick-up and hike from 10 AM to 3 PM, arriving back in Phoenix at about 5 or 5:30 PM.  Bring gloves, sunscreen, sturdy shoes, hats and water.
Lunch and snacks will be provided by the Earth Care Commission.
Please RSVP to Sarah King, garbageldy@hotmail.com or 602 576 6054
for information on carpooling opportunities.
HELP US BEAUTIFY THIS WONDERFUL PLACE!

Saturday, May 17th, 7 PM to 9 PM, Franciscan Renewal Center
Screening of "Bidder 70" movie.
"Bidder 70" is the story of Tim DeChristopher, an environmental activist who disrupted a highly disputed Utah BLM oil and gas lease auction, outbidding industry giants for thousands of acres of pristine Utah land adjacent to Canyonlands National Park and saving them from oil and gas development.  The auction was later invalidated and DeChristopher found guilty of federal offenses.  He was imprisoned for two years....but he made his point loudly and clearly in this very effective act of civil disobedience.  Join the AEC Earth Care Commission and the Franciscan Renewal Center to view the movie, enjoy some snacks, and participate in a lively discussion afterward.
$5.00 donation suggested.
