Have you ever had so much to say that you just didn't know where to start? That's where I find myself today - so much to say and not that much time or space. So - I'll just keep it simple.
I am truly honored to be the 2015-2016 President of a powerful group of professional women with such a strong history. Maintaining balance with health, family and work are of utmost importance to me as well as creating and maintaining strong personal and business relationships. I am blessed with incredible friends and family. Thank you for your support going forward.
I am excited that our membership is growing! Last month, we welcomed 3 new members: Annie Steinberg (Better Homes & Gardens & Gary Green), Rebekah Stump (Thermography of Houston), and Vivian Lewis (My Picqasso).
This month, we have 3 more new members: Lisa Aldis (CABi), Karen Anderson (Amegy Bank), and Dana Loukani (Pink Zebra Home). Please make a point of introducing yourselves to our newest members.
And speaking of members, the Members Only section of the website is being updated this month. We will have the contact information for current members only. The password to that page will be sent to you in a separate email.
If you missed the announcement from May's meeting, you may not know that we are going to reissue the "Member Directory". I never had one and many of you told me that it was "missing" for you. So, being the great "fixer" that I am, I've decided to put a team together to create a new and improved directory.
You will be receiving an online survey, to make certain that all your info is up to date. For those of you who want a new photo, we are making plans with Amy Zurbola (J Reed Salon) and Sharon McClung( ) to have some hair/makeup/photo sessions. Stay tuned for more details. The goal is to have the directories ready for distribution by August's luncheon. There will be a cost associated, but it will be as low as possible.
We are in for a treat with this month's speaker. I hope you all will make time in your schedule for our lunch and bring a friend.
THE WORLD IS MINE - Author Unknown
Today, upon a bus, I saw a very beautiful woman
And wished I were as beautiful.
When suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle.
She had one leg and used a crutch.
But as she passed, she smiled.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two legs; the world is mine.
I stopped to buy some candy.
The lad who sold it had such charm.
I talked with him, he seemed so glad.
If I were late, it would do no harm.
And as I left, he said to me,
"I thank you, you've been so kind.
It's nice to talk with folks like you.
You see," he said, "I'm blind."
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two eyes; the world is mine.
Later while walking down the street,
I saw a child I knew.
He stood and watched the oth
ers play,
But he did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment and then I said,
Why don't you join them, dear?"
He looked ahead without a word.
I forgot, he couldn't hear.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two ears; the world is mine.
With feet to take me where I'd want to go,
With eyes to see the sunset's glow.
With ears to hear what I would want to know.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I've been blessed indeed, the world is mine.
Blessings -
