Hello everyone,
 I just wanted to let you know about an exciting new network that I have started-up with a friend. It might be something you would like to get involved with!
It's called 'Open Beyond'.
Open Beyond became a reality because of some of our frustrations that we really wanted to help overcome:
Firstly, It seems to me that the Self-Development industry is split into two camps - one camp is to 'poke a person's pain' which keeps that person paying for 'magic' solutions. While the second camp (the much smaller camp) provides practical methods of change that involve the whole person. Open Beyond only deals with teachers of camp two.
Secondly, how can tutors or independant consultants reach a global audience when avenues such as publishing are becoming more restricted?
Lastly, how can we help new teachers/practitioners navigate through the web of legalisation, business building and focusing on their purpose to create a sustainable income quickly?
The answer is to create digital multimedia education at an integral level, and help to support tutors in accesing these and other tools in an accessible way!

For Teachers
Open Beyond is all about helping people with amazing ideas and concepts that you want to share with the world.
We wanted to create a way for you to do that: to interact with your students in real terms, online, without any boundaries, fully managed & fully secure - so all you need to do is what you do best... teach, empower, and share!
 If you wanted to become an e-tutor you'd be dealing with us every step of the way.
We're here to bring our combined years of experience in IT, Marketing, Social Media, Authoring, Teaching and Public Speaking directly to you. We'll help you get your ideas together, give you step-by-step support in the creation of your course or online event, and we'll even help you with hints and ideas to help you market your course.
Once it's created your course or event is uploaded by us onto the e-learning network, so there's no complicated software to learn; and your whole teaching environment is managed and secured by us at Open Beyond. We'll even take care of the student's technical questions, with an on-line helpdesk just for them. There are two ways to work with us. One is as a service provider, we put your course on-line and manage it for you and you pay us. We are cost effective and your likely to be in profit the first time you run the course. The second is to work in collaboration with us, you pay nothing upfront and we take a spilt of the profit. Both of us will need to market the course. This offer is by invitation if you are in alignment with our mission. What is integral learning?
Current models for education value what works for society. In one sense every person within a society works for that society, for the smooth running of its services and for its exports to be a successful society in a global market. Therefore the talents that bring wealth to that society are the talents valued in school. 90% of the way we are educated is in one way. Its cognitive based, we read the books, listen to the expert and it's we have some analyses. But it is very much one way of learning. If you do well in science and maths you get compensated more in attention and money based job opportunity. It's a case of how we have set up our culture. The truth is there are multiple types of intelligence and because of this we learn in multiple ways of knowing. - Visually - We learn from what we see and believe with our own eyes.
- Kinaesthetic - Through movement.
- Somatically - By what and how we touch.
- Experimentally - By our own experience.
- Intuitive - By what we know without reasoning.
The learning with all of the above being included is what's known as integral learning. Bring the whole self into learning, not just the mind. If you leave one of these elements of who you are at the door you are missing a part of yourself. At Open Beyond this is what we are looking for in the creation of on-line content in courses, 'does this course bring the whole of the student into play'. |
