The Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce and Chamber Discoveries present this 8-day journey to Ireland. Ireland is located in the North Atlantic and is the third largest island in Europe.  The island has lush vegetation due to its mild but oceanic climate, and Ireland is free of the temperature extremes we experience here in the Northeast. Experience the Cliffs of Moher, one of Ireland's most visited sites, and Galway, a harbor city located on the West coast. The trip includes two castle visits - Kilkenny Castle and Bunratty Castle - as well as an excursion to Dingle and a visit to the Rock of Cashel.  There is also an optional two day Dublin post-tour excursion.

Open to all members of the community, the 8 day trip begins on Monday, October 15, 2018 and includes round trip airfare from New York City, round trip transfers between airports and hotels, 6 nights of first class hotel accommodations, daily breakfast and tours.   Click HERE  for the full itinerary.

The Albany County Legislature is currently considering a  proposal that would mandate private sector employers - both for-profit and not-for-profit, to provide paid sick leave to their part-time and full-time employees. This proposal would cover any employee who performs work within Albany County for more than 80 hours in a calendar year.  View the full proposal here.

 COMMUNITY HAPPENINGS

The Bethlehem Historical Association celebrates our town's 225 birthday with cake and ice cream at our annual Ice Cream Social on Sunday afternoon, June 10 from 1-4pm.  While you are there, take in our lovely new exhibit featuring wedding dresses from the 1860s to the 1960s. All welcome! Free. Stop by the Cedar Hill Schoolhouse Museum, 1003 River Road, Selkirk. We are open Sunday afternoons from 2 to 4 pm.

Bethlehem Cemetery was established in 1865, yet the folks buried here, like Revolutionary War veteran Christian Bender and his wife Elizabeth Cramer, touch history back to the 1700's. Nathaniel  and Rhogenia Adams, early residents of the Delaware Turnpike, are also here.  Many other family stories will be explored during this Historical Walking Tour, including Blanchard, Haswell, Slingerland and Van Allen.  Walks are free but please pre-register with the Town of Bethlehem Parks and Recreation Department at 518.439.4955 option 3. The Tuesday Delmar Farmers Market opens for the season on Tuesday, May 1, 2:30-6pm, at  Delmar First United Methodist Church , 428 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar. Stop by for the first of the season produce and farm fresh items. 

The Saturday Delmar Farmers Market opens for the season on Saturday, May 5, 9am-1pm at the Bethlehem Middle School on Kenwood Avenue.  Visit the website for details.
