We hope you've been enjoying the lovely New England Fall. In the past 34 years of living in Boston, I do not recall as beautiful a weather as the one we are enjoying right now.  Perhaps what is making the colors and the crisp air even more enjoyable is that the Red Sox won the World Series.  I have a feeling this will be one of my most memorable Autumns for years to come.  With the excitement that's been building up for this season our chefs have been busy taking in all that the local New England farmers can offer before the frost sets in.   You can clearly see the season's bounty on our menus at Lala Rokh, Bin 26 Enoteca, jm Curley and Bogies Place.

 

So come stroll through the Public Garden, Boston Common or the back streets of Beacon Hill and take in the scenery before settling in for a great meal.

At Bin 26 enoteca Chef Sacha has been using local ingredients such
pumpkin from Green Meadows Farm to make the hand made stuffed Pumpkin Ravioli photographed here.  

  

At Lala Rokh, Chef Azita is trying to get her hands on any more local squash left in any of the locals farms to use in the classic Persian recipes.  Pictured here is our Zucchini stuffed with hand ground beef, lentils and rice spiced with saffron and house made all spice. 

At jm Curley and Bogies Place Chef Sam and Chef Bauers have this fall been sourcing various delicious goodies from Siena Farm's daily harvest. In Bogie's Place, they are preparing a foie gras torchon w/ Demerara br�l�e and seasonal  accoutrement, and  preparing simple, rustic veggie sides to accompany our a lacarte steaks. Pictured below is a roasted celery root & parsnip pur�e w/ crispy sage and caramelized apples. All local, all super tasty!!

Besides the fact that Beacon Hill is a magical village, it becomes even more memorable during the Holiday Season with all the shops and restaurants decorated.  So needless to say, our annual Holiday Stroll (showcased by the Beacon Hill Business Association) is unforgettable for kids aged 3 to 103.  So join us as we take over Charles Street and remember a bygone era of horse and buggies.

It is our duty to live responsibly.  For us at BiNA Family Hospitality, this means doing what we can to positively impact the neighborhoods we do business in and to reduce our footprint by simple things such as; recycling the cooking oil we use, buying from sources we know that respect the environment - both in the water and on land - and reducing our waste and recycling paper, glass and plastics.    At a recent W2O event, featuring Celine Cousteau's "A World Beneath the Waves: Being Human in the Sea" I was mesmorized by Ms. Cousteau's passion, dedication and love for our earth.  A spitting image of her grandfather the famed Jacques Cousteau, she challenged everyone to think about their daily lives and how they can improve their impact on the earth we all live on and more specifically how our actions impact the oceans around us.  She asked "where do you think the gum wrap or cigarette butt ends up when thrown on the street?" The answer of course is in our waterways and ultimately in our ocean.  At the conclusion of the event, we were asked to take home an action card (above) and to find the answers to the ten important questions about Ocean Issues.  The goal was to make us all think as individuals, families and businesses on how we can reduce our negative impact on the ocean.  We urge you to look at these 10 questions, think about them and then click on the link below and learn more.
