So here we are in December already and it's hotting up, both in the weather and with the work Big Hill Events have been doing. We've got loads to catch up on, so let's jump in ... 

 

Trail Work Continues

 

Get Involved and Get Free 2012 Marathon Challenge Tickets!

     In the Pyrenees forest just behind Avoca a crew of volunteers have been making something pretty cool - marking, digging and scraping a fantastic trail ready to be showcased at the 2012 Marathon Challenge. They even managed to get their hands on a mini excavator - but don't just read about, check out the video .

 

Now, Big Hill Events has just invested in a petrol powered jackhammer to help with the digging and the team will be back working on the trail this weekend Saturday 3rd of December. With the 1st of the Victorian XC summer series races held on Sunday just round the corner at Wimmera Hills Winery you can make a great weekend of it. Be part of this great trail project, ride some trails Saturday afternoon and then Race the XC round on the Sunday.

 

Not only will it be a fun weekend of work and play, but if you come and help out you earn yourself a free ticket to the 2012 Marathon Challenge! If you want to get involved please contact us at info@bighillevents.com.au

Entries now open for 2012 Marathon Challenge

 

New 65km Distance!

     Being held on the 18th March the 2012 event is set to be another Big Hill Events Marathon that is full of reward. We are back with our ever improving course, 5 fully catered feed zones, Mt Avoca picturesque start / finish area and new for this event is the 65km distance and Saturday night Mt Avoca Barrel Room dinner.

 

Entries are limited so choose your challenge and get yourself ready!

New Events Coming Soon

It's time to get your teeth locked into some of other events - Big Hill Events is taking its professional event management skills to a range of new and exciting events.

Duael Enduro

     Remember the Duael Enduro back in April 2011? Well the guys at Flat Hill and Big Hill Events are teaming up (Big-Flat Hill Events?) to bring you this great event again. Details are soon to be released but lock in your diary for Sunday 1st of April.   

 

Dirty Grand Fondo

     Never been off road before? Want something more exciting than a road race? Just want to enjoy a fully supported ride with friends and family? Then get involved in the Dirty Grand Fondo.

  

New to 2012 we have a mass participation event that you can either ride or race. The course follows through the scenic Mt Disappointment state forest over 65kms with plenty of undulating and ever changing road terrain. There is NO single track, but that's not why you're here - it's an event for the masses.

  

Entry is according to the bike you choose to ride - either 26"or 29" wheels or Cyclo Cross. There are prizes for the first 5 across the line and top 3 in each category for Open Men and Open Women. Choose your ride and join us at the Dirty Grand Fondo on Sunday 20th of May 2012.

 Run From The Hills

     Based in the Pyrenees Ranges State Park just near Avoca Victoria this trial run will start from the hills and finish if all goes well at the beautiful Mount Avoca Winery. More detail to come - looking at November/December 2012.
