Boulder County Farmers' Market - Header
BCFM FIRE UPDATE:
Boulder Farmers Market will be open from 4-8pm, today, June 27. BCFM acknowledges the dangers of fire in our magnificent landscape and the hazards of smoke within our city limits. We are monitoring both fire danger and air quality closely. The City of Boulder is under a Multiple Pollutants Action Day Alert until at least 4pm and we encourage all market supporters to be personally responsible for their safety and well being. Meanwhile, our agricultural community is working hard this day to pick and hand deliver the freshest product to our Market. If we are advised by safety officials at any time to close our Market we will do so and update our posts. Otherwise, we will proceed as usual, with best of intentions to our neighbors, and gratitude for the hard working firefighters and volunteers of Boulder County and neighboring communities.

Elena Balandina loves shopping at the market because everything is fresh!  Her favorite meal from the market is a turnip sandwich: Hakuri turnips and tomatoes, avocado, and just a little bit of mayo. Her kids love organic carrots! Elena has been a Boulder Farmers' Market customer for 3-1/2 years and also maintains her home garden. She admits that her own radishes are a bit too spicy for her kids, who prefer market radishes. Market goodies: beets, snap peas, dill, carrots, eggs, yogurt, jam, a couple cookies and a pie.

We Grow What We Sell!

Summer is on! We've got cherries, apricots, and the first picking of Colorado's finest peaches. Tomatoes are heavy on the vine, and farmers are beginning to harvest zucchini, broccoli, carrots, and beets. You'll still find plenty of salad greens, radishes, turnips, and much more of the best in local produce for all of your 4th of July festivities.

Be sure to visit the Longmont market this Saturday where you'll find a Fine Art & Fine Craft Fair from 8am - 1pm and a special kids' art activity hosted by Ollin Farms from 10am - noon. Click here to meet this week's featured artist Rocky Stiers.

Amaizing Corn Tamales
In 1989, Richard Convertito walked through the budding Boulder Farmers' Market and thought it would be a great place to sell his Amaizing Corn Tamales. "I talked to Farmer John and he talked to the board of directors," recalled Convertito. "They said yes, and I started at the market with only a card table, a cooler of frozen tamales, and a few pots of warmed-up tamales for people to eat right there," he added.  Read more...
