 GRAND CHARITY BALL
SATURDAY 11 FEBRUARY


Our big event of the year is being held at the Goodwood Park Hotel and is in aid of Breadline - a local charity helping the old and needy


Did you know?

Everyone who books through the 'early bird' offer gets a discount - regardless of whether they are on their own, in a couple or in a table of 10, so get your bookings in before the offer ends on 6 January!

 DROP-IN COFFEE

For those of you that are here for Christmas, or if you want to escape your visitors for a couple of hours, or you can bring them along for a chat, then the last Drop in coffee of 2011 will be on Friday December 16th at Brunetti's at #01-35 Tanglin Mall. This new addition to Singapore promises to offer us "mouth-watering cakes, freshly baked breads, delightfully sinful chocolates and flavourful gelatos". Ah, blow the diet and come along!

 PUB NIGHT - FRIDAY 16 DECEMBER

TIME: 7.30pm onwards 
VENUE: District 10 Bar & Restaurant, 81 Clemenceau Avenue, UE Square shopping mall (Corner of Unity Street and Clemenceau Avenue)
District 10 is new to this part of town with great food, beers and wines. The British Association has exclusive access to the 'Bar Alfresco' and Happy Hour prices on beers and house pour spirits all night!

Come along and enjoy the last Pub Night of the year. Look out for the BA flag

AFTERNOON TEA - TUESDAY 17 JANUARY
 

TIME: 2:30pm - 5:30pm
VENUE:  10 Scotts at Grand Hyatt, 10 Scotts Road
COST: $47 members/house guests; $50 non members

Why not start 2012 and the Chinese New year with a bang and join us for tea at the newly refurbished 10 Scott.
Choose from their variety of gourmet sandwiches,  crab cakes with remoulade sauce, fresh popiah and selection of cheeses.
Indulgent desserts, and warm scones with raspberry and kaya jams with a generous serving of fresh clotted cream.

BA LADIES GOLF

Join us for a friendly round of golf on regulation 18 hole golf courses in Singapore, with the occasional trip to Indonesia and Malaysia.
 
The BA golfers will meet on the second Wednesday of every month and players will need to have a handicap or proficiency card.  Tee off times from 7.30 am onwards.

SPANISH FOR BEGINNERS

A BA member is arranging a 'Spanish for beginners' course at the Las Lilas Spanish School, 180B Bencoolen St, walking distance from Little India, Dhoby Ghaut, Bugis MRT stations.

The course will be 2 hrs a week in the morning, they are flexible with start time and day of the week depending on what suits the majority.  She is looking to start the course week beginning 16th January

Minimum of 4 students in the class, maximum of 12

Cost is $340 for 10 x 2hr sessions plus approx $80 for books.

 RECYCLED CHRISTMAS CARD CHARITY APPEAL

Used Christmas cards can be recycled and made into boxes to  raise funds for the Singapore Association for the Physically Disabled.

Cards can be given to Jackie Collins at the Botanic Gardens Walkie Talkies on Monday or Friday mornings or taken to Pharmaplus at Camden Medical Centre.

  CHARITY APPEAL FOR THE RED CROSS

The Red Cross home for the disabled at Redhill has 16 staff from Myanmar and Jackie collects toiletries, such as those found in hotels, to give them for special occasions such as Christmas and their birthdays

New toiletries can be given to Jackie Collins at the Botanic Gardens Walkie Talkies on Monday or Friday mornings or you can contact her for other arangements
