I hope this newsletter finds you well and in good weather. With summer almost here, I'm in complete denial that school will be out in less than a month. I'll miss my quite time but love the buzz of fun in the sun with my kids. I just put a few finishing touches on the manuscript of my book project which won't hit the shelves for almost a year. There's so much more to a craft book than I ever imagined. My book will feature over a dozen craft projects with detailed instuction and it will come with something extra to get you started crafting right away. Chronicle calls this type of book a "Book Plus". It will fall in line behind their Silhouette Art, Mobile Art, and one more fun book-plus releasing this fall. All of my projects have been written, crafted and photographed. The technical edits have been done complete with metrics, and it's all now in the hands of the Art Director/Book Designer! I can hardly wait to see it all come together. A photo from my visit to Chronicle Books in San Francisco last week.
In the coming month I hope to be switching gears to product development of my own line of crafty goodness. I'm also still working on the start of my craft barn project in hopes of beginning classes late summer/early fall. I will keep you updated as that goes. I hope your transition into the summer months goes smooth and you are finding time to create, craft and daydream as much as possible!
Have a wonderful day! JustSomethingIMade.com

Speaking of freebies... here are free vintage clip art images exclusively for my newsletter readers. Butterflies with and without ribbon wreaths. Click on the images for larger files to save. (I think these would be fun to trace and color onto Shrinky Dink plastic!)

You Are What Inspires You.
Pinterest. Are you as hooked as I am? Pinterest proves to be one of the biggest tests of my self control when it comes to organizing my time. It's far too easy to get lost forever in there. I enjoy making and adding to my boards over coffee on the weekends and I love seeing what my friends find on the world wide web. Click on the image below and see the boards I've started so far. Creating and filling Pinterest boards are a GREAT way to discover your inner style. After weeks of pinning, simply sit back and behold the things that charm you.

Morocco Creative Retreat
My lovely friend April Meeker of Second Sister Suaviloquy and the amazing Mindy Gledhill are hosting a creative retreat in Morocco in October. Have you ever heard of anything so cool? Click HERE for all the information. Mindy was a guest speaker and singer at the last SPARK event. What a treat that was. (Understatement!) Here's Mindy's video of the beautiful song she shared with us there. | | Mindy Gledhill - Anchor |

One last note...
If you're a regular reader of my blog, you may have read my various posts about my dad and know that he passed away last month. I just want for all of you who prayed for him and our family, who left kind comments and sent sweet notes, to know that I appreciated every single one. I can't begin to tell you how touched I am by it all. I will miss him more that words can say, but I am at peace knowing he is finally Home. Thank you. |
