Newsletter Changes

We seem to be getting our footing back after a mad rush at the end of 2014.  Response to our weekly newsletter has been good and in 2015 we plan to bring a few new areas to the weekly newsletter.

  1. Who's Who in the Woodworking World - this section is about our woodworkers.  Not about their woodworking but about what they do besides woodworking.  We need to hear from you.  Do you have a unique occupation?  Do you do charity work? etc.  Please email your story to [email protected]
  2. Have you ever wanted to write an article?  We'd love to have input from others.  Send your article(s) to us at [email protected]
  3. Tool Reviews will be a regular part of the newsletter
  4. Weekly Drawing will now be announced the week the item is announced.  With over 2000 names in the pot chances of winning are pretty good.  Once you have entered your name stays in the drawing until you win.  Winners names are removed for 90 days.
  5. Cook's Corner - Recipe Share.  If you have a great, easy recipe to share, email to [email protected].  A photo of the prepared dish is required with the submission.
We sincerely hope that together we can make a new and interesting weekly update from our workshop.
Woodworker Spotlight

Meet David Feola!

David using an Auto Refractor on a recent mission trip.

David is a longtime member of the Charles Neil Woodworking group.

David resides in Ohio but several times a year travels the world, specifically on mission trips.

As an eye doctor travelling with an International group called Helping Hands (www.hhmm.org),

David has participated in missions to Ecuador, the Philippines and Peru.

"I am really looking forward to this opportunity to serve the poor and help them improve their eyesight."

At the end of this month David will be embarking on his first mission of 2015, back to the Philippines.  His group is always in need of slightly used glasses, reading or prescription, which they carry with them and use to help these people with improved vision.

Now that Charles has his 'new' glasses, we have quite a collection of reading glasses we will be sending to David to take with him.  We invite you to do the same.  Please, if you have old reading or prescription glasses lying around, won't you send them to us so we can get them to David?

In a recent email David wrote, "Charles, feel free to send me any used glasses that you and your friends have... they will be used again by someone less fortunate somewhere around the world."

You can send these glasses to us and we will ship them together to David.  Mail them to:

A Word From Charles

Those of you who subscribe to our weekly show know that I received good news about my shoulders.  No surgery at this time!  A couple of injections and a week later, much improved mobility and a lot less pain.

Working on finishing some keeping boxes and chests that will go to Monticello for their online store and on sight gift shop and then on to the upper cabinet units of Crystal's kitchen.  Doors and drawers and then the install, gettin' there!
