What's New at Child's Play
It's been an exciting fourth quarter here at Child's Play, with the addition of new clients covering a range of categories from TV to toys to cause-marketing. This resulted in the creation of top-level media coverage, from major stories in key local markets such as New York, Chicago and Los Angeles to top national media. Some highlights:

DHX Media:
We're delighted to be working with DHX for the return of Teletubbies, one of the most iconic children's brands of all time. Our favorite clip to date: The Teletubbies on KMAX-TV in Sacramento, on the day before Thanksgiving. The project involved coordination with producers, food stylists, costumed-character wranglers and more, but the result was worth it. Check out the segment here.

The American Specialty Toy Retailing Association has been a Child's Play client for five years now, and we look forward annually to promoting its Best Toys for Kids awards and Neighborhood Toy Store Day. This year's results included an interview with ASTRA president Kim Mosley on Chicago's WCIU-TV and a lengthy story on

Primo Toys : Child's Play has established a growing expertise in STEM products. Cubetto is an award-winning, Montessori-approved coding toy for preschoolers -- the only screen-less programming system, powered by a revolutionary coding language made of colorful wooden blocks that lets children write their very first computer programs. Child's Play helped make Cubetto a sensation this holiday season, with stories in such targeted media as Cool Mom Tech, New York magazine and San Diego Family magazine.

2016 marked our first time working with generationOn, the youth division of Points of Light, the largest organization in the world dedicated to volunteer service. Our assignment was to promote Family Volunteer Day. Presented by generationOn and sponsored by the Walt Disney Company, Family Volunteer Day is a day of service that demonstrates and celebrates the power of families who volunteer together, supporting their neighbors and neighborhoods. Coverage included national media such as Redbook magazine as well as a
great segment on KABC-TV in Los Angeles, featuring child star Albert Tsai of the TV show Dr. Ken.

Tiny Tech: Coding Goes to Preschool
By Stephanie Azzarone, president, Child's Play Communications

Tech will be at the top of many parents' shopping lists during holiday season, and this year there are far more choices, for a broader span of age ranges, than ever before.

Products from established brands in this space such as WowWee, Spin Master, Wonder Workshop, Sphero, Ozobot, Lego Mindstorms, Activision and Anki continue to appeal. What I find most of interest right now, however, is how newer entrants into the kids' tech space are bringing the essential skill of coding to younger and younger kids - even preschoolers.
Kids & Family Tech Expo

One of the most fun activities here in recent months -- for the agency, exhibitors and media like -- was the 2016 Kids' & Family Tech Expo, the first media event designed specifically to promote tech products created for kids and families. Held in New York City on Sept. 13, the event was a major success, featuring exhibitors ranging from start-ups to global brands such as Spin Master. Media coverage of the event itself and of products shown at the Expo included USA Today, New York's WCBS-TV and NY1.
