Sunday, July 24th
Gather up your children's books (appropriate for ages birth to 18) for our Summer Children's Book Swap.
Our CEC kids will swap books with each other and any books left over will be donated to BookSpring, a community literacy partner.
Be sure your kids are here for Sunday School on July 24th for the swap! Children's book donations can be dropped off in Kids Kingdom.

CONFIRMATION AND RECEPTION CLASSES

Father Trawin will be leading a special class for those who wish to become Confirmed, Received, or for those who wish to Renew their Vows.
These classes will be held July 31st - August 21st during the Adult Sunday School hour which begins at 9:15 am.

VESTRY INFORMATION SESSIONS

 Have you ever wondered what it is really like to serve on a vestry in the Episcopal Church? What is a vestry? What are the qualifications? How long is a vestry term? What does a vestry do?
If these are some of the questions, you have asked, the leadership of Christ Church is prepared to answer them-and many more. Several current and past vestry members will be on hand to answer your questions. Join us for one of the two vestry information sessions.
Our hope is that after you hear what a rewarding time on the vestry can be that many of you will consider being elected to the vestry.
Pizza and drinks will be served.

Nothing makes a bigger impact than walking into the church on Pentecost Sunday and seeing the "tongues of fire" flowing from the ceiling; or, when the altar colors are changed and new banners are hung!

CRAFT SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR CEC KIDS

 Help replenish the craft closet for the Children's Ministry!
While you are out doing your Back-to-School supply shopping, would you mind picking up a few extra supplies to help us replenish our craft closet?
The Children's Ministry is in dire need of bottles of glue, fine tip color markers, kid scissors, any color of construction paper, hand sanitizer and baby wipes.
A collection box will be in the Narthex on Sunday morning so that we may collect your donations. As always, thank you in advance for your help!

FUNDS ARE BEING COLLECTED TO
REFINISH OUR FAMILY LIFE CENTER FLOOR!

 We are raising funds to refinish the floors in our Family Life Center so that they will look nice when the Bishop arrives in August!
Volunteers will be busy this week scraping carpet glue off the floor and prepping the floor for the stain.
The goal is to have funds collected by August 7th! Thank you for your consideration in helping us keep our property looking nice!

PRAYER REQUEST SUBMISSIONS

 Tell me more about the prayer ministry at CEC:
We are a group of people who are dedicated to praying daily for your intentions, your needs and those of your family and friends.
How can I submit a name for prayer?
We will need the full name of the person for our office records. Names will remain on the prayer list for one month. It will be necessary to add names each month if necessary.
Please send the names of those for whom you wish to pray to Donna Naymick at [email protected].
Many in the congregation have asked if we can start to print the list of those for whom we are praying on a day to day basis. The answer is yes. The list will be printed each Sunday and first names only will be said at the prayers of the people.
On Sundays, or after any service, you can complete one of the prayer cards which are placed in every pew. Should there not be a prayer card in your pew, please let one of the ushers know and he/she will assist you. There is a wood Prayer Box, so marked, at the rear of the church on the right hand side as you exit. In completing the prayer request card or when e-mailing, please let us know if you require a call from either Fr. Trawin or Deacon Jan.
All requests are kept in strictest confidence and are only discussed within the ministry if clarification is needed.

Father Trawin leads the Sunday morning Lectionary studies. We are using a resource called Synthesis CE, which looks deeper into the history and interpretation of the scripture. In order to make full use of the resource and to give time for study at home, we will hand copies of Synthesis out for the upcoming week. You may also find copies of the Synthesis in the Narthex (near the entrance).
