Greetings!

Please join us this evening for the second concert of our 26th Annual FREE Concert Series in City Park at the Band Shell on Ferril Lake from 6-8pm, rain or shine. Presented by Cornerstone Apartment Communities and Frontier Airlines, tonight's concert features Los Bohemios.

Los Bohemios is an acoustic ensemble composed of some of the best musicians in Colorado. They play Cuban Son, Salsa, and Boleros (ballads in Spanish with Afro-Cuban rhythms). They also cover other Latin styles such as Bossa Nova, Latin Rock, Latin Jazz and even Mexican Mariachi repertoire. Los Bohemios feature Ricardo Peņa on vocals and guitar or requinto, Amy Biondo on vocals and hand percussion, Ed Edwards on guitar and vocals, Mark Diamond on upright bass, and Jose Espino on congas and bongos. They feature great 3-part harmony, Spanish guitars, acoustic bass and Latin percussion to create danceable salsa rhythms in the style of Buena Vista Social Club or Gloria Estefan, and romantic ballads in the style of Los Panchos.

Remember to pick up your 2012 City Park Jazz t-shirt featuring the winning high school art contest illustration. The shirts are available in men's and women's styles at the City Park Jazz booth near the Pavilion. In addition, we have CD's from the 2011 concert season for sale. Pick up a shirt and CD combo for only $20.00. All proceeds help keep the concerts alive and free.

A few helpful reminders for the upcoming concert season:
  • Glass bottles are not allowed in the park.
  • Please be kind to the neighborhoods surrounding City Park and utilize the parking lots and garage at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and parking lots at the Denver Zoo. In addition, the west side of the park is open for parking. Enter off 17th Avenue and follow the signs.
  • If you choose to ride your bikes we have secured bike parking available on the south side of the pavilion.
  • We have some of the top food trucks in Denver on the south side of the pavilion as well. The prices are affordable and the food unbelievable.
Other than that, don't forget your chairs and/or blankets, great attitude, and dancing shoes.

City Park Jazz is a private non-profit funded through operating grants from SCFD and The Denver Foundation in addition to corporate sponsors and individual donations.

Thank you for your ongoing support of City Park Jazz and we look forward to seeing you this evening!

Sincerely,
