London 2012 can be a catalyst for all sorts of good things. This, at least, is the view of arc, a service which aims to use Olympic fever to connect the world of big business with social enterprise. It has the ambitious aim of creating 1,000 new jobs by 2015. Head to their website to find out more.

Zaytoun is an inspirational community interest company looking to use trade to address many of the poverty issues in Palestine. It hopes to create a market for olive oil farmers who have seen their access to the Gulf trade dry up. Founder Cathi Pawson told us more on our blog.

Sarah Dodds Fund opens for business

The Sarah Dodds Investor Readiness challenge is up and running. The fund is looking for applications from social ventures in London and the South East looking to go from initial stages to scale.
The prize - up to �20,000 - is designed to ensure the winning applicants can successfully scale their activities through 2012. For more information and to find out about the fine work being done by the fund step this way.
