Swim the Sound

One of Virgin Island Search and Rescues (VISAR) most popular events!

Every year many fundraisers dust off their goggle and register to take part in a race across the North Sound on Virgin Gorda. Starting at Saba Rock the swimmers choose to swim either a 2 or 3 mile open water course over to the finish line at Leverick Bay, all in the name of charity!

A few years ago VISAR added the option for competitors to use a Stand Up Paddleboard to race the 3 mile course, which proved extremely popular and has been a regular feature ever since!

In the afternoon VISAR then hosts the Waterworld event at Leverick Bay, featuring an amazing Caribbean buffet lunch, a frozen t-shirt contest and all kinds of fun events on the beach for kids!

This year 31st May, Biltong the dog (the first and only dog to swim the sound), competed for the second year and beat his time by 11 minutes! Good boy!

Conch's Fab Spot of the Month

Fish N Lime

Located on the water at Soper's Hole just a short distance away from the West End Ferry Terminal, many of you will know it by its former name, the Jolly Roger. It is one of the best places on Tortola to experience freshly caught fish or lobster dishes.

It is an idyllic place to enjoy a meal whilst relaxing alongside the water, with cool breezes and great views. They have a dock for dinghies or smaller boats to tie up to. If you are thinking of staying on Tortola they have rooms available, as well as a small gift shop.

Conch-coction

"Conch's Banana Twirl"

2 Measures Conch Superior Rum

(a bottle free with every charter)

5 Chopped Bananas

2 Measures Coconut Milk

2 Measures Grenadine

Ice

Half fill a blender with Ice then add all ingredients. Blend together then pour into a large chilled glass to serve. Mmm... enjoy!

 Testing Question

Where is the Bubbly Pool?

A shallow, naturally formed pool that becomes 'bubbly' as the waves crash over the rocks.
The pool is at its best in winter months because of what natural occurrence?

Boat for Sale

JUST REDUCED AGAIN to sell!

44' Lagoon 440 2006 - $325,000.00

Come with an offer! Lagoon's designers have surpassed themselves with the 440 model, proving how well the space can work on a catamaran platform.

The raised, central flybridge on the Lagoon 440 provides the helmsman with a clear all-round view, whilst keeping the outdoor living space clear of lines.

The aft cockpit is very well protected by a solid bimini that forms part of the deck moulding. A third cockpit in the bow is a great place to sit in the breeze and enjoy a sundowner. Or enjoy the internal air conditioning if things get too hot outside.
