EXPO BEGINS ITS ONE- YEAR COUNTDOWN

A crowded Piazza Gae Aulenti. Colorful balloons of green, white and red. And the extraordinary voice of Andrea Bocelli accompanied by the RAI Orchestra, conducted by maestro Andrea Morricone (protagonist of a memorable concert on April 29 at the Moss Theatre in Santa Monica). This is how Expo Milano 2015 celebrated the start of the countdown marking the final year before its inauguration. In Los Angeles the Expo will be featured next month, on June 1, at the yearly celebration for Italy's Republic Day at the Italian Cultural Institute. Expo Milan will last 184 days opening on May 1, 2015. 24 million visitors are expected for the entire duration of the Expo with 147 participating

countries. The aim, and first great innovation, of Expo Milano 2015 is to identify new strategies to tackle the challenges of the next millennium: to ensure every single person the right to sufficient, healthy and safe nutrition, to guarantee environmental, social and economic sustainability of the food industry, and to protect food taste and culture. To find out more about the Expo click here
