Well our bumper bank holiday experience is now over and we are just coming to the end of our final 4 day week (for now!).
As schools and colleges have been closed for Easter, we've been busy networking, presenting and advertising in preparation for the summer term. Janet Wild of 4Thought Solutions and Barbara once again delivered a PSHE day in Tarporley High School on 28th April. This time our fast paced active learning session delivered "everything you need to know about puberty!" and was very well received. If you follow us on Facebook (Connie Eddie) or on Twitter (ContraceptionEd) you will know that Barbara has now perfected a knitted vulva for demonstration of healthy female genitals in the classroom, and also for raising awareness and provoking discussion of issues such as female genital mutilation and the growing trend of unnecessary plastic surgery.  It is now 4 years since Barbara was awarded Special Recognition for her sex education resources at EUWIIN in Berlin. Moving forward, Barbara has been invited to the EUWIIN conference on the 25th-27th May 2011 in Rekyavik to chair the education session. For more information please do visit the EUWIIN website. Open Day!
The OPEN DAY FOR GLOSSOPDALE YOUNG WOMENS GROUP
was on Wednesday 4th May 2011
at Gamesley Residents Association.
The day was very successful and a new young women's group has been set up and is ready to meet to develop a new programme next week with aspiration raising sessions and support from Sure Start, Teenage Pregnancy, and Contraception Education. At the open day there was a food and fun activities for both young women and their children. We received moral support form the local councillors who joined us throughout the afternoon.
