Big Game Edition

football_bench.jpg

You are no doubt aware that there will be a major sporting event this weekend in our home state of New Jersey. We are unable to tell you the name of the event because it is trademarked, but we will assume you have an idea of what we're referring to.

Here at Cornerstone, we have been working hard for the past three years in preparation for the big game. We are fortunate to have completed over 15 projects at MetLife Stadium for a variety of clients. Projects include work directly for the stadium as well as branding for some well know corporations.

In addition to the three projects featured on the right, our completed work includes; offices for the "big game" host committee, medical replay room, and ticket booth alterations. We have done several branding projects and signage installations for Chase Bank, Bud Light, Tostitos, and Toyota.

We are proud that this event is taking place in our home state and we feel privilege to have had the opportunity to work on these projects.

Thank you for reading this special edition of our newsletter and we hope you enjoy watching the game on Sunday.

Vince Lombardi Trophy

The Vince Lombardi Trophy is the trophy awarded each year to the winning team of the big game we couldn't mention above.

The trophy was designed by Oscar Riedner and produced by Tiffany & Co. in Newark, New Jersey. Others have since been handcrafted by the company in Parsippany, New Jersey.

The trophy was first awarded to the Green Bay Packers in 1967. Initially inscribed with the words "World Professional Football Championship" and generally referred to as the world championship trophy, it was officially renamed in 1970 in memory of legendary Green Bay Packers head coach Vince Lombardi.

Unlike other trophies such as Lord Stanley's Cup, a new Vince Lombardi Trophy is made every year and the winning team maintains permanent possession of that trophy.

The original trophy made by Tiffany & Co. has returned home and is currently on display at the Newark Museum.

Chase Suites

The Chase Suites project involved the fit-out of the last two remaining luxury suites in the stadium. The spaces are located on the North end zone side of the field and each includes a Lounge area for entertaining clients, a service pantry and a private toilet room.

Flexibility is provide through the use of movable furniture and a hinged back bar with an integrated display case that folds 180 degrees against the wall. One of the suites includes a metal louvered wall system that was inspired by the exterior of the stadium.

General contractor was Vericon Construction.

Verizon Football Toss

The Verizon football toss is an interactive arcade style "customer engagement" that incorporates Verizon branding and cutouts of life-sized football lineman with a motorized target through which participants attempt to throw a football.

This structure is located on the plaza level near the Verizon gate and is free to all fans.

The Jameson Irish Whiskey Pub is our most recent completed project at the stadium. Opening less than two months ago, this project includes the transformation of approximately 2,000 SF of previously undeveloped interior space into an authentic Irish Pub. The space features a 70 foot long wooden bar with a richly detailed back including built-in lights and displays. Unique to this space is a barrel wall made by stacking the ends of used whiskey barrels.

Stop in for a drink during your next visit to MetLife Stadium and give us your feedback.

The project is located on the 100 level concourse near the West gate and is open to the public.

Cornerstone is the architect of record and part of a design build team including Hunt Construction.
