Greetings!

What a busy, busy weekend!  Recital rehearsal on Friday night, two recitals on Saturday, Father's Day breakfast, another afternoon recital and a family barbeque!  But always time is found to spend with our daddy, my daddy and my husband's daddy, memories being made and stored.

Are You Prepared For Summer?

My kids don't seem really excited for the end of school but I know that some are counting down the days ... are you prepared for them to be off?

Through the summer there's always a rainy day at home or a trip in the car.  Click HERE to link to instructions for a simple friendship bracelet.  This bracelet can be made with embroidery  floss for older kids with more dexterity or plastic lacing (gimp) for the younger crafter.

We have the weaving wheels, embroidery floss
and gimp in stock.
Don't leave it too long as the wheels are
very popular in the summer

We will all be much happier if we
plan activities in advance!

Upcoming Community Fundraiser

We always like to support local community fundraising events but this one strikes a personal chord for Lilian and I, as it does for the owners of Back Country Paintball... that's not to say that you'll see us actually actively participating!  For more details Click HERE to visit Back Country Paintball's website.

Why Not Do It Yourself?

Baker's twine has recently become a very popular embellishment for both card makers and scrapbookers alike.  But not your ordinary, white baker's twine - we're talking about multi-coloured and striped twine.  But who needs bulk quantities of each colour?  Why not make it yourself in the colour you need to complete your specific project!

We have neutral coloured string in stock that you could

use for this project.

Click HERE to link to a video that will show you how to make your own Faux Baker's Twine.

Things to watch for in the store this week ... Lilian and I have been busy putting together some jewelry pieces which are now displayed on the front counter and are for sale!  Those participating in our Basic Grey Page-of-the-Month program can expect their kits to be arriving shortly as they are being shipped this week!  Don't break down the door this morning because they aren't arriving until late this afternoon but yes, we are expecting more House of Mouse stamps and Sizzix Textured Impressions folders!

Finally we would like to send a thank you to one of our many faithful and kind customers.  In a rush to get to recital rehearsal last week I left without bringing in our sign which stands out at the street.  It would seem that some of our local youngsters kept themselves entertained through the evening by rearranging the letters on our sign - and of course what they had to express was not something that we would appreciate.  But thankfully one of our ladies was passing by early in the morning and kindly removed the offensive words ... Thanks Raine!  Kindnesses like yours are remembered.

Happy Crafting!
