On September 15th, The DuPage Convalescent Center will come alive in a joyful celebration of autumn during the 45th Annual Fall Festival. This fundraising event is a family day hosted by the Center and the DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation. The event is from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The event includes a resident craft sale, kid's games and contests, craft and flea market vendors, a huge garage sale, a car show, bake sale, book fair, mums, taffy apples and scarecrows for sale, live entertainment, a raffle and silent auction, and a petting zoo. Major sponsors for this event include BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois, Stratford Dental, Suburban Bank & Trust, Cadence Health and Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.
Admission to the Fall Festival and parking is free; the event is open to the public. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Resident Recreation Fund and the DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation, which provides quality of life programs and services to Center residents throughout the year.
There are many ways to help! Buy Fall Festival Treats, donate baked goods for the Bake Sale, donate to the Garage Sale, rent a craft or flea market booth, show off your classic car, bring your family and Friends, or Volunteer! You can support the Resident year round by volunteering. Volunteers age 14+ are welcome to join our volunteer team to support the daily quality of life needs of our residents. Community groups are welcome! Submit an application online at www.dupageco.org/convo.
The Hidden Treasures Resale Shop is open year round and supports the ongoing needs of the Residents. Donations of the following are always needed: Dishware, household items, jewelry, knick knacks, seasonal decorations, artwork, small furniture, toys and more. Please no electronics, TV's, organs or large furniture. Donations may be dropped off at the Reception desk between 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. daily. Donations receipts are available. You can help our residents stay healthy! Please refrain from visiting if you are sick or suffering from any contagious illness Practice good hand washing techniques and use hand sanitizing gels/foams to reduce the spread of germs.
Stamps are available for resident purchase at the Reception Desk.
Resident mail delivery occurs daily between 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Handicap parking permits are available to residents' family members and friends of our residents for use in the community. DPCC has State of Illinois issued parking permits that may be used on a short-term basis for resident appointments and special events. Individuals may reserve the permits by contacting the main reception desk. For additional information, please contact the Reception Desk or the Center's Administration Department at 630-784-4201.
S.T.A.R. or "Special Thanks And Recognition" forms can show the staff how much you appreciate their hard work. Complete a star form and highlight good deeds. Forms may be found on each nursing unit and in the 1 Center hallway outside the cafeteria!
