Budget Planning Begins Eanes ISD is beginning the initial planning for what will be another year of reduced funding from the state's public education coffers. After a $3.7 million reduction for the 2011-12 school year, the District will face a shortfall of approximately $5-$6 million for 2012-13. While the Board of Trustees has committed to using $4 million out of fund balance, District officials are identifying additional areas to make up the $1-$2 million shortfall. Find out more...
District Joins Lawsuit
Eanes ISD Board of Trustees voted 7-0 last week to join a coalition of districts filing suit, contending that the State has not provided adequate funding for schools and has taken away local discretion for districts to raise taxes. Eanes Trustees authorized Superintendent Dr. Nola Wellman to join other revenue-contributing school districts such as Highland Park, Granbury and Plano in the lawsuit. Read more...

Read more...Schools Make Honor Roll Barton Creek Elementary School, Forest Trail Elementary School and West Ridge Middle School of the Eanes Independent School District have earned recognition on the 2011 Texas Business and Education Coalition (TBEC) Honor Roll.
