ROSEHIPS!
Rosa rugosa...the plant that keeps on giving. In June, the intoxicating scent of  blooming roses draws us in to collect petals for creating a myriad of recipes for natural cosmetics, teas and cordials. The other day by the shore,  a few remaining petals continued to bless us with summer's last gasp. Now, with autumn approaching, the hips are abundant, and the most nutritious part of the plant.

In the fall, many plants present a bounty to forage, supporting us for the upcoming winter challenges. Immune system boosting is now important, and Rosehips deliver! Did you know that they provide  50% more Vitamin C than oranges? They lend themselves well to drying for a great addition to tea formulations, incorporating into "Fire Cider", and making into jam. And about that jam...labor intensive, delish, totally worth all the effort...e mail for my recipe if interested.

To dry and store for winter use:  remove stem, cut in half, remove seeds, dry in dehydrator or low oven. They are fleshy so will take a bit of time and patience to dry completely.

C Me in Winter (tea blend)

1 pt. Organic Orange Peel
1 pt. Rosehips
1/4 pt. Organic Lemon Peel
1/4 pt Cinnamon Chips
