Take Back Your Time: Rediscover Sabbath Workshop for Clergy
Wednesday, 3/22
@ St. Mark's, East Longmeadow

Rabbi Mark Dov Shapiro

Life runs 24/7 in the modern world. (For clergy, perhaps 25/7!) Is there a way to slow down? Rabbi Mark Shapiro will introduce us to the Jewish Sabbath to discover wisdom that might allow us to catch our breath and find some holy stillness. We will look at biblical and later rabbinic texts that first present and then elaborate the Sabbath idea.

Rabbi Shapiro is Rabbi Emeritus at Temple Sinai, Springfield, and Rabbi in Residence at Christ Church Cathedral.

Toward the Beloved Community
Coming to Worcester Region April 1
@ St. John's, Sutton on April 1

Whether you are a beginner on the path or well along the journey, you are invited to a new spiritual formation opportunity coming to each corridor of our diocese, starting this fall. We’ll share the sacred stories, Biblical and personal, drawing us toward transformation; explore the Episcopal Church’s complex history on racial justice; and navigate some of the deeper waters of systemic racism and white privilege.

Our day will include prayer, presentations, small group discussions, short videos, lunch, and Holy Eucharist. Each parish is encouraged to send at least one clergy or lay leader, and group size is limited, so please register early! Childcare and/or a children’s component is available with participant interest.

Facilitator Team from the Social Justice Commission: Lee Cheek, Lisa Green, Harvey Hill, Alexizendria Link, Peter Swarr, Maggie Sweeney
