RIS and Think Local First DC Celebrate Women Leading the Local Food Movement 

 

During Eat Local First Week, RIS and Think Local First DC will celebrate women leading the local food movement by offering a Femivore Scholarship to one woman leading the local food movement. 

 

Three finalists will compete for guest votes during a Femivore Award Happy Hour Reception (Monday, July 16th). The winner will receive a $1,000 award to support their locally sourced food projects built around the ideas GROW, FEED or INSPIRE. Applications are being accepted through June 20th here.

Celebrate the Start of Summer with FRESHFARM Markets and Park Hyatt 

 

Park Hyatt Masters of Food & Wine is a series of hands-on and interactive culinary and beverage experiences hosted at Park Hyatt locations around the world. 

 

On Sunday, June 24, celebrate the start of summer with an early morning harvest breakfast with FRESHFARM Markets founder and director Ann Yonkers on Blue Duck Tavern's outdoor terrace. Enjoy an assortment of regional ingredients including: hand-harvested Amish eggs from Path Valley in Pennsylvania, dairy products from Trickling Springs Creamery, and artisan cheese from Cowgirl Creamery.  

 

Afterwards, head over to the Dupont Circle FRESHFARM Market to watch Chef Sebastien Archambault and Chef John Melfi lead the 'Chef at Market' demonstration, followed by a tour of the Market by Ann Yonkers. 

 

Tickets are priced at $55.
