Featured New Music

An eclectic collection of cinematic music, ranging from beautiful orchestral arrangements filled with drama, to light soundtrack grooves. Each track has a different instrumentation and feel, but still have the feeling that they were created by the same composer. Cinematic Moods Volume 11 offers a wonderful collection of movie ready music that will add to the emotion of your production. Thoughtful music that will fit nicely in the background and enhance the picture. Another great volume.

Another high quality collection of energizing rock music. Features some hard rock tracks, but also contains some lighter rock feelings. Rocking Out Volume 11 is loud and aggressive, and of a phenomenal production quality. Simply arranged rock tunes, with some, but minimal lead guitar work. Great tracks to sit nicely in the background of a production, while bringing some energy to the overall feel. The perfect place to begin your search for some serious rock music.

Light soundtrack music with a grooving flow. Simple tracks that set the mood, perfect background music for a lighthearted montage, or to add a little momentum to any scene. Moods And Grooves Volume 18 has a low key sound that will add a distinct texture to your production without overpowering the visual. Each track is clearly by the same composer, but vary greatly in feeling and mood. Make sure to listen through them all to find just what you're looking for.

Top Moments from the Billboard Music Awards 2014

Michael Jackson was brought back to life -- sort of -- at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.  A hologram of the King of Pop, surrounded by real-life backup dancers, performed "Slave to the Rhythm" Sunday night off the recently-released posthumous album "Xscape."

Robin Thicke debuted a new song, "Get Her Back," during the ABC telecast -- a not-so-subtle reference to his estranged wife, actress Paula Patton. He mentioned Patton while accepting the award for top R&B song for "Blurred Lines," saying, "I'd like to thank my wife for her love and support and for putting up with me all these years."

Miley Cyrus did not appear in person, but she made her presence felt from England, where she delivered a pre-recorded performance of The Beatles' classic "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," with help from members of The Flaming Lips. She and the group recently recorded a version of that song for The Flaming Lips' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band tribute album.  Miley also won multiple awards, including top streaming artist. She cursed during her taped acceptance speech, but the objectionable word was censored.

Katy Perry's performance, of her new single "Birthday," was taped in the U.K., too. She serenaded a little girl who was actually celebrating her birthday at the concert.

Kendall Jenner, a younger sister of Kim Kardashian, had the faux pas of the night, when she attempted to introduce the Australian pop group 5 Seconds of Summer. It seemed that she started to call them One Direction, before stopping herself and telling the audience, "I'm the worst reader," referring to the teleprompter.

Justin Timberlake had some funny moments, even though he didn't attend. He was the night's biggest winner, collecting seven awards, including top artist. During his taped speech for top artist, he joked, "It's not a competition, but if it was I won!"  He then added, "I want to thank everybody on Earth, everybody on Earth... except Donald Sterling."

Imagine Dragons received five awards, while Robin Thicke, Pharrell and T.I. scored four apiece for their work on "Blurred Lines."

The three-hour broadcast, which was hosted by Ludacris, concluded with Jennifer Lopez performing her new A.K.A. track "First Love," then accepting Billboard's Icon Award. She is the first women to receive that honor.

J-Lo helped open the show, too, teaming up with Pitbull for a performance of their World Cup song "We Are One (Ole Ola)."

The night's lineup also included: OneRepublic, "Counting Stars" / Iggy Azalea, "Fancy" / Ariana Grande & Iggy Azalea, "Problem" / Florida Georgia Line & Luke Bryan, "This Is How We Roll" / Shakira, "Empire" / Imagine Dragons, "Tiptoe" / Ricky Martin, "Vida" / Luke Bryan, "Play It Again" / Lorde, "Tennis Court" / Miranda Lambert & Carrie Underwood, "Something Bad" / John Legend, "You and I" / Jason Derulo, "Talk Dirty to Me."

Composer of the Month:
 Rick DiFonzo

Rick DiFonzo is a Freeplay Music vet! He has been in our library since the early days as one of our original composers! Rick has been playing music since he was 5 years old, even played a gig at a wedding when he was 12! In his 20s he made a few records with Aritsa which enabled him to leave Philadelphia and come to New York. From there he started making records, played with national artists and wrote jingles. He has known and worked with all of the principals in Freeplay Music for many years, saying "I knew my music would get a good shot at being placed." He plays the guitar but dabbles with other instruments as well. Some of Rick's passions besides music are traveling and charities for kids and animals. Please check out some of his music below! DiFonzo has music in our Indie library as well as our production library: consisting of bold guitar stylings to dramatic and eclectic, energetic and aggressive to light pop music. He also has some bluegrass and harmonica tracks all the way to grooving dance floor melodies. And we can't forget a mysterious collection of moody and exotic songs as well! Please give it a listen!!
