Just days left until the 36th edition of Grandma's Marathon weekend hits the Twin Ports. Months of hard work and commitment have been poured into this event - from runners, volunteers and many others. But, it will all be worth it when the shoes hit the pavement on Father's Day weekend and the excitement begins!
With more than 17,000 people registered for the USA Half Marathon Championships, William A. Irvin 5K, Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and Grandma's Marathon, I want to thank each and every one of you for your participation.
Good luck with the final days of your training and I can't wait to see you all for a fun-filled weekend that's sure to create new memories and new friendships - and hopefully new PRs for many.

Runners stopping at aid stations along the Grandma's Marathon and Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon course on June 16 will again have plenty of Powerade available to quench their thirst. Powerade with ION4 became the exclusive racecourse performance drink in 2010 and will continue to be available at all aid stations this year.
Sit Back, Relax and Get Inspired! Austin-Jarrow and Grandma's Marathon will present an all-star lineup of guest speakers during the 36th annual Grandma's Marathon weekend. The 2012 Guest Speakers will appear in the Edmund Fitzgerald Hall at the DECC on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
