Book of the Week
This week's Book of the Week is 'In Every Moment we are Still Alive' by Tom Malmquist.

This book is only for the emotionally prepared reader who is ready to have their heart strings pulled to the point of breaking. Tom has written the story of man who suffers multiple instances of sudden and devastating loss. Somehow, the author manages to make the affair of working through the paperwork of healthcare and death genuinely poetic. Following loss, there is hope, and the procedure of mourning can save a life. You won't leave unaffected.

Turkey Tales

Flocks of turkeys on our back ro a ds are a common sight here in the Lakes Region. But did you know that 150 years ago, they disappeared from New Hampshire completely due to the lack of habitat and over hunting.  It took two major efforts by NH Fish and Game to transplant turkeys back into our state and new laws to limit hunting to bring their numbers up to where it is today. Bird counts in 2017 were estimated 19,000.

Riddle me this. December we get snow. January we get negative temperatures. February we get rain. March we get... snow? Don't put your snowshoes away yet! Check our Facebook page or WMUR for updates on whether or not the library is open.  It looks like we will not be open all day, so stop in when the snow is light in the early morning, or wait until the snow is done. Btw, voting today is on!

Molly will give a presentation on her independent business, Soul Pine Pottery, and on life as a ceramic artist this Thursday at 6pm. She does fascinating work, so her program should be interesting too!
