DVD of the Week
This week's Book of the Week is 'The Last Ballad' by Wiley Cash.

It's 1929 in the Appalachian foothills of North Carolina, where Ella May Wiggins works herself to the bone in a textile mill. The conditions are horrific by today's standards, and Ella is tempted by the words of local union organizers. Her decisions have an impact on her family for generations, and the book touches on the perspectives of the mill owners and of her descendants 75 years on. 'The Last Ballad' is a fascinating look into a struggle that isn't often remembered.
