Dear Girl Scout Family,
Be part of the great Girl Scout Democratic experience. Annual Meeting | January 25-26, 2012 | Holiday Inn, Duluth Like many non-profits, Lakes and Pines operates through a democratic process. We have an annual meeting where the Board of Directors is elected by delegates from each of our service areas. The board is responsible for policy-making and overseeing council operations through our Chief Executive Officer, Leigh Ann Davis. The 2013 Annual Meeting will kick off with an open-house Social on Friday Night. There will be appetizers, networking, and lively conversation. Registration begins Saturday at 8:30 a.m. with a light breakfast. The Business Meeting commences at 9 followed by lunch and a short Recognition Celebration featuring girls who have earned their Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards over the last year. We have negotiated discount hotel rates and budgeted funding to help our volunteer delegates who are traveling. Check out the "delegates" page on our website for details. Beyond the "work" at the annual meeting, there's also special relationships we build as we come together to share our own Girl Scout experience. It reminds us that we're part of something bigger than us, our troop, our town, our service unit, or our region. Most of our staff will be in attendance to welcome you at the Annual Meeting. I am personally looking forward to connecting with Girl Scout Sisters (& brothers) who I see in person just this one time each year but who work alongside me all year long to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place in Girl Scouting. Please save the date and sign up today to join us at the Annual Meeting. Tauna |
