Repairs Take Time
They are working pretty hard on Bartlett Road right in front of Grace and stretching both directions for several blocks. The wet saws have cut the concrete over most of the stretch already and they just began work a few days ago. That's pretty quick by Chicago standards. And I haven't seen the "extra" 3 guys standing around watching, or officially "supervising" the one worker, as seems to be the norm. They are "getting right after it", as I see it.
I'm reminded of the saying, "In Chicago we have only two seasons: Winter and Road Repairs". Ha Ha. Well, actually not so funny and not so far from the truth.
God's work in creation- All we see, done in six short days and no overtime on Sunday. Kinda' makes you wonder what kind of awesome living quarters we're going to have in heaven since Jesus left a few years ago and has been working on that project since then.
Also makes me wonder about the length of time it takes for God to do His re-creation work in me. Sometimes, it takes a painfully long time for God fix things up in me. Why?
The answer is easy- God is working hard with great skill and delicate precision. The problem is I spend so much of my time and effort working against Him. That's the sad truth. I should just give up. Surrender. Let God have His way.
Have Thine own way, Lord... Have Thine own way
Thou art the potter... I am the clay
Mold me and make me... After Thy will
While I am waiting... yielded and still
Yielding as best I can,
Pastor Paul
