Greetings!
The mission of the Guadalupe Centers, Inc. is to improve the quality of life for individuals in the Latino communities of greater Kansas City.

We will accomplish our mission by:

  1. Providing early childhood, secondary, preparatory and adult educational programs.
  2. Facilitating access to health and social services for all ages.
  3. Promoting and providing Latino cultural enrichment events.
  4. Sponsoring social activities that engage our diverse communities.

From all of us at GCI we would like to wish you and your family a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you for making this past year an amazing year and for your continued support of our mission
Thank You to the KC Royals Charities, Inc.

Guadalupe Centers, Inc. would like to thank the KC Royals Charities, Inc. for their recent donation of $10,000 for our Family Support Center to purchase food (particularly meat) for our food pantry.

Guadalupe Centers has seen an increase in persons who are low to moderate income households being negatively impacted by the economic downturn. Many of these families are hourly employees who were already "underemployed" and have been hit hard with having their hours reduced. Additionally, these are the families already living "paycheck to paycheck" prior to the economic downturn - thus forcing them into a downward spiral. Many have reluctantly become "monthly" food pantry recipients - families that have never had to request food assistance before.

Because of the KC Royals Charities, Inc. generosity, we will be able to meet this increased demand for food assistance and be able to provide meat in addition to other food pantry items. We truly appreciate their support!

If you could like to help out or donate food items to GCI's food pantry, please contact GCI's Salud Center at 816-561-6885

AVMS students
Plan Ahead! Enroll your 6th Graders to Alta Vista Charter Middle School for the 2012 School Year!

Parents of 5th Graders! Where do you want you students going to school by 7th grade? Plan ahead! Alta Vista Middle School is working hard to prepare students for their high school career, and to do so effectively we want to make sure we have a large and energetic 6th grade class! Three years at Alta Vista Middle will ensure that your child is READY for high school level reading and math. Enrolling your students in our sixth grade gives them three years to prepare, but it ALSO ensures that they have secured their spot in the 7th grade class and all of their school years to follow at both the middle and high school.

Alta Vista is quickly become a school with high demand. Our waiting lists for 7th - 12th grade are growing, so families who get their students in the sixth grade year do not have the stress of the 7th -12th grade waiting lists and lotteries.  If you have students in the fifth grade currently, or know families who do, PLEASE plan ahead and make the commitment to enroll those students for the 6th grade year.  Please call 816-472-4120 for more information about enrollment!
