Black History Museum Opens for the Night at Churchill School

Churchill students and their loved ones braved Tuesday night's stormy weather to visit the school's Black History Museum.  Students displayed the projects and research they worked on during Black History Month. They also played in a drumming circle and had portraits taken in the Art Studio.

Thank you,Churchill families, for coming out on such a dreadful night!

Reading Takes Center Stage at Willow School

Willow School hosted two special events in February to excite the minds and imaginations of their beginning readers.

On Feb. 15th, students were enchanted by the storytelling of Oba William King, a nationally renowned storyteller, who reads, tells and even drums his wonderful stories and fables.

On Feb. 8th, hundreds of pajama-clad students and their loved ones turned out for Willow School's Family Reading Night. They signed up for library cards from the Homewood Public Library and snuggled up for stories of all kinds. Homewood author Tracy Watland read from her children's book, "The Kindness Can." Below are some highlights of the evening.
