Greetings!

First of all, thank you so much if you called, emailed, sent a card, or stopped in to wish my husband Vern a speedy recovery.  As you may or may not know, Vern had emergency open heart surgery in January while working in Ohio.  I joined him and we spent about three months there while he healed.  By the way, he also had his gallbladder removed 6 weeks after his heart surgery!  We are very fortunate and thankful that everything is going well and we are now both back to work.

Thank you for your patience and apologies to anyone who came to the shop to find we were closed during that period when we had to scale back our hours.

We are now back to our normal hours of Monday through Saturday from 10 am until 5 pm and I'm trying to play a bit of catch up with projects and plans.  We also had to reschedule all of our classes and workshops so that is the focus of this newsletter.  Many of you have asked that we offer our various classes and workshops again as you were unable to attend them in the past.  So here you are!

The Nook - Lamp with a Room
June 22 (Saturday) The Nook is a one-day workshop during which we will paint and decorate the interior and exterior of a fully electrified real life size lamp style roombox. In the workshop we will finish the exterior of this fully assembled lamp base, which includes a four-way switch, with a paint and stucco treatment. We will also stain or paint the door and windows. The magnetic front panel is removeable for ease of interior decorating with wallpaper and flooring as well as furniture placement (approx. 5" x 5-1/2" interior space). The door and two windows will be selected and purchased separately at the time of the workshop allowing you the opportunity to choose the style you prefer. The model shown on the website has the Palladian door and windows, but you may choose a model that accepts a variety of rectangular doors and windows.  The next all-day workshop is June 22, 2013 beginning 10:30 am. Registration with your $85 payment is due by June 15, 2013. The lamp shade, door, windows, and any interior finishes are NOT included in the base cost. Finish It Fridays
This is a new concept that we are going to try.  Over the years, we have had many requests for a class or workshop geared at helping folks complete a project (or two) that they have either been struggling with or just need a little extra boost of confidence or inspiration.  We have enough space to accommodate about 4 people with projects and working area not to exceed about 4 feet.  Might be a little difficult with a large dollhouse, but a roombox or other project will have more than enough working space.  Our goal is to help you complete that long-standing project and with other people in the workshop who knows what additional ideas might come to mind.  We figure it will be a relaxing day of comraderie and sharing.  I may not be able to remain with you the entire time, but as time allows I'll be in the workroom to help with any areas or things that need help (or moral support).  Our Finish it Fridays program will be held on one Friday a month, but we will require registration with a $5 fee.  The fee will be your committment to attend.  Every Finish it Friday you register and attend will make you eligible to win a gift certificate drawn from all names entered in the Finish it Fridays participation box.   Our first Finish it Friday will be held on June 7, 2013.  Tentative plans are for the First Friday of each month, but we'll let you know as soon as we confirm the dates.

Fairy Tree Stake
Fairy Gardens
Just a reminder that we have a wonderful collection of fairy garden items as well as garden kits including a variety of basics to get you started on your fairy garden project.  Some of the items are handcrafted and others are resin molds that will withstand moderate weathering with a little pre-treatment.  A series of delightful little fairies, tables and chairs, and assorted garden fixtures are among the assortment.  Stop by soon to collect your pieces and bring a little bit of whimsy into your home, patio or yard.  Remember, that fairy doors are still hugely popular and one-inch (1:12) scale dollhouse doors are perfect for creating that magical entrance to the land of dreams and wishes.
