Welcome to the spring issue of the Lazarus Caucus Connection, your resource for information, updates and news about the Westside Men's Emergency Shelter. As the weather turns warmer and the obvious signs of spring are all around us, we are inspired by a season of change, of new life and renewed hope. It is the purpose of renewal that drives the Lazarus Caucus volunteer effort all year-long toward the transformation of lives. CCBC Accepts 55 Wade Avenue Address

Many thanks to Ruth Ann Wickless for her help in making it possible for the Office of Admissions at CCBC to accept the address of 55 Wade Avenue, or the Westside Shelter to be considered an acceptable residential address for student admission. Recently, CCBC did not recognize the shelter address as a residence and declared it a "Commercial" address thereby making shelter residents ineligible for in-county rates. Jim Schreiber, Director of Admissions, has indicated that anytime a resident of the shelter wants to apply to take classes at CCBC, he should apply directly through the Office of Admissions and speak to him. Mr. Schreiber will then notify the Director of Records and Registration, who has the authority to "tag" them in the system as in-county residents--thus they will not have to pay the "out-of-county" rate. |

This is a bring-your-own-lunch seminar for clergy, lay persons and youth who are serving homeless citizens. Homeless Rally Towson Maryland

Thursday, March 19-5:00 p.m. Homeless Rally Towson The Baltimore County Communities for the Homeless (BCCH) will sponsor its 9th annual homeless rally at the Calvary Baptist Church, 120 W. Pennsylvania Avenue, Towson, 21204 on March 19, 2012, starting at 5:00 p.m. The event will include a light dinner. Speakers and a march to the Baltimore County courthouse seat to speak to council members are planned. Anyone is welcomed to attend the rally. We need all Baltimore County citizens to come and be informed about homelessness in Baltimore County, advocate and participate in the process to end homelessness.
