April is going to be an exciting and busy month at Madison Heights and we look forward to seeing you for some of the fun!

We are hosting our Spring Luau on April 24 and hope that you can join us as we celebrate the spring with our residents. More information on this fun family event is listed below under the Mark Your Calendar section.

April 15-21 is Volunteer Appreciation Week and we will be certain to make sure our volunteers know how much they are appreciated! Our residents love meeting new people and telling their stories to new friends. This is one of the many reasons that we are so thankful for our faithful volunteers! I f you are interested in volunteering at Madison Heights or know someone who would enjoy volunteering please contact Kelly at 706-364-8710 or [email protected].

Lastly, we have numerous outings on the calendar for the month including: Grease at Regal Cinema, Arsty Me, Tranquility Stables, Morris Museum of Art & a lunch outing. Our residents enjoy seeing the town and reliving memories of places they have lived or visited in the past while we are out.

Mark Your Calendar!
Luau on the Lawn

Join us on the lawn as we grill out and enjoy live entertainment from Incrediblues on Tuesday, April 24 from 5:30-7:00 in the Monroe Place courtyard and grassy neighboring area.
**To ensure we have adequate food and seating please RSVP to Kelly at 706-364-8710 by Tuesday, April 17th.**
To make room for everyone, we are limited to three guests per resident.


Support Group
A support group led by a Madison Heights staff member meets the third Thursday of each month at 2:00 at the Alzheimer's Association. If this date or time is not convenient for you contact Beth at the Alzheimer's Association at (706) 860-4599 for information on additional support groups.

All family members or caregivers of someone with a dementia diagnosis are welcome to attend. Don't forget to invite others who you think would benefit from additional support.

Friendly Reminders
If you notice an associate going above and beyond their normal job duties please notify Christen at [email protected] so that that they can be recognized with a Madison Heights Champion award.

Please check to make sure the doors are closed securely when you leave a building.

We would appreciate your help in making sure that all important documents and bills are being sent to the responsible party, and not Madison Heights.

Doctor Visits
If you would like to switch to our in-house physician, Doctor Naseem, please see Christen to fill out a consent form.  
 
Podiatry Visits
The podiatrist will be visiting Madison Heights every other month. His next visit will be on Thursd ay, April 19. To make an appointment for your family member, contact Christen.
 
Medical Reminders
The Madison Heights vehicle will be available on Tuesdays to help assist residents to medical appointments. Please speak with Christen at least two weeks in advance if you would like to utilize this service to ensure that the vehicle is available during your requested appointment time.

About Evelyn: Evelyn grew up on a farm and was the oldest of nine children. She loves talking about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Evelyn is a nurturer and wants to make sure everyone has what they need. She loves taking part in crafts and sitting and talking or telling stories.

Congratulations to Bettina for being chosen as Associate of the Month!

Bettina was chosen because she takes pride in her work and is dedicated to great resident care. She is a team player who is dependable and has a big heart and great personality.

She is also dedicated and conscientious about her position at Madison Heights. You can count on her to do the right thing and love the residents as her own.

Bettina says that her favorite part of working at Madison Heights is the residents and that she thinks of them as her family.
