Dear Friends,

 

We had a wonderful day of auditions on November 1st!  Our five winners will be traveling to St. Paul, MN for the Upper Midwest MONC Auditions on January 31, 2015.  We hope to see you there in support of these fine young singers.

 

In the meantime, we hope you have a chance to see some of our past auditioners in an upcoming performance!

Curtis Bannister (2010 Encouragement Award /2012 Audience Choice Winner) 


 

Curtis will be making his Lyric Opera of Chicago debut in Porgy & Bess as Peter in addition to covering the role of Sportin' Life.  The opera runs from 17 November - 20 December.

Amanda Lauren Compton (2009 auditionee)
 

Amanda was last seen performing with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, as well as the Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown New York where she performed in Carousel and served as the Dance Captain for An American Tragedy.  She will be performing next at Hawaii Opera Theatre with Glimmerglass's production of The Flying Dutchman in February.

Alisa Suzanne Jordheim (2011 and 2012 District Winner)

 

 

Jordheim

Alisa will be performing the role of Marzelline in Beethoven's Fidelio with Madison Opera on Friday, November 21, at 8:00 PM and Sunday, November 23, at 2:30 PM. Both performances will take place in Overture Hall at Madison's Overture Center for the Arts.

Kangmin Justin Kim (District & People's Choice Winner 2013)

  

Recent revival performance of Idamante in Idomeneo at the "Mozart in Schwetzingen Festival", Germany, and Menelao in Elena by Cavalli at Anger Nantes Op�ra and Op�ra de Rennes, France, as a part of Festival d'Aix-en-Provence on tour. Upcoming performances include Justin's Paris debut in La Chauve-Souris (Die Fledermaus) as Prince Orlofsky at Op�ra Comique,  Oreste in La belle H�l�ne by Offenbach at Th��tre du Ch�telet (Paris), and Sesto in Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito at Op�ra National de Montpellier, as well as concerts in the U.S. and Shanghai, China.

Anna Laurenzo (2014 Auditionee)

  

Anna is a current Studio Artist with Madison Opera in Wisconsin. She will be seen in their upcoming productions of Sweeney Todd, and Il Barbiere di Siviglia. In March, she will make her company debut with Haymarket Opera's production of Telemann's Don Quixotte. 



Allison Nicholas (2014 Auditionee, Florentine Opera Recital winner)
 

Upcoming Allison will be appearing as a soloist with Shallaway Youth in Chorus in St. John's Newfoundland, Canada, a featured artist with the Opera on the Avalon Christmas Concert, and as a featured artist in the St. John's recital for the Florentine Opera in January. 

Jamie Van Eyck (District Winner 2008)
 

 

Jamie sings the role of Hansel in a semi-staged performance of Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel with the Alabama Symphony on November 7.
