Dear Friends,
The production of The Barber of Seville (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) is well in its way. All the artists are in Miami rehearsing this wonderful comedy by
Gioacchino Rossini also known as L'inutile Precauzione (The Futile
Precaution). The opera is presented in two Acts with an Italian libretto by Cesare Sterbini, based on Pierre Beaumarchais's French comedy Le Barbier de Séville. The opera will be presented at SMDCAC on August 5 and 6th. With the wonderful group of artist featured, we have no doubt that this production will provide outstanding entertainment and fine music to be appreciated by the entire family and opera lovers at large. Reserve the dates!
In this unique occasion, we are proud to feature an excited group of International artists that include: as Count Almaviva the Portorican Tenor Fabian Robles, the Italians
Leyla Martinucci, Mezzo Soprano and Nicola Rizzardi Baritone, as Rosina and Figaro respectively, the Greek Bass Stefanos Koroneos and the Russian Bass Mikhail Smigelski as Bartolo and Basilio respectively. The cast is completed with fine local artists, Chorus and Orchestra under the baton of Mo. Beverly Coulter.
I look forward to a great production with a large number of supporters, opera lovers and friends attending at SMDCAC.
Sincerely
Raffaele Cardone
